2017: New year, new content!

Can you guys believe it’s 2017? Holt Creative has lots of high hopes and expectations for this year, and we are so excited! We are pleased to share that each of us will be pursuing our business as Senior Capstone/Exhibition projects during our final high school semester. With more time throughout the school day, we hope to be filming/editing more and being more active on our social medias (including this blog). Keep an eye out for our new content!

We know it’s still very early, and we might be overly ambitious in this moment, but here are a list of large-scaled projects we’d like to accomplish this year:

A WEEKLY VIDEO

- Often throughout the year, Holt Creative goes through "dry patches" in terms of getting clients. The start of the New Year is usually a big one (who needs holiday family portraits in January?) Thus, we unfortunately have not been producing as much as we would like to be doing. This year, we would love to make shooting and editing videos a consistent routine, (every week? every two weeks?) Whether it’s making silly cooking tutorials, or homemade short sketches, we want to continue practice producing videos regardless of whether or not they are considered gigs.

MUSIC VIDEOS

- We highly appreciate creative, high-quality music videos (shoutout to Kurt Hugo Schneider, the Gardiner Sisters, and Hellers/Nimmos!) Drawing inspiration from artists of the like, we can take so many unique approaches towards producing these videos. Is TEN music videos a realistic goal to have by the end of the year?

SHORT FILM

- Little known fact about me (Emai): one of the biggest bullets on my "before I die" bucketlist is to make a movie (or at least participate in the behind the scenes of one, whether it's as a director, producer, or editor). Obviously, making a full movie is an extensive project that requires lots of planning and executing, which is why Holt would start with baby steps by making a short film! The 48 hour film fest is coming up in May, and we'd love to be a part of that, if possible!

WEDDING

- Shooting a wedding is also a big activity on the bucket list! Weddings are always such beautiful, fun events, and we'd love to be a part of one. Whether we're shooting photos or videos, it would be a great honor to be chosen to capture one.
